Fishing Forum Participation Can Save You A Lot Of Empty Casting!
Back in the old days(?) if you wanted to find out where the fish were biting and what our local finned friends were biting on you could just saunter on down to the bait shop and get some free advice from the locals. As with all things modernized, even fresh water fishing has become competitive with fish finders and GPS units taking some of the natural skill out of fishing.
With this modernization comes the change in the way fishing information is disseminated. Now part of your preparation for fishing means packing your laptop or at least using your home computer to check the fishing forum on outdoor sporting web sites just to get a bead on the best pond or stream to cast in.
It does however make a nice transition from bait shop to electronic bulletin board as you can learn a lot more reading some if the popular fishing forum reports than you can trying to pry the secret location where the bass are running wild from some closed mouth fisherman who is trying to hit the water before you do.
Once home and in the comfort of home, fellow fishing enthusiasts are more willing to impart this type of pertinent information to you then. Why? Because they are sitting comfortably at home with a beer I one hand and their limit of fish already grilling or cleaned and put away in the freezer. You are no longer competition or a threat but just another fellow angler now.
