How to Land Your Dream Job Fast

On his website, Robert Gerberg explains how SOAR process can help job seekers land their dream jobs fast. SOAR is an acronym that stands for Situation, Opportunities, Actions and Results. Below is the meaning of SOAR and how it works:

I.              Situations – Describe a job by laying the cards and by outlining the situation.

II.            Opportunities – Identify the opportunities of the job.

III.            Actions – Take actions. According to Gerberg, this is the most important part of the process.

IV.          Results – Quantiify your accomplishments.

In the ‘situations’ part you should describe the job by describing the scenario when you joined, trying to make it interesting. In the ‘opportunities’ part, explain the opportunities that the job gave you. As an example you can say that when you joined the company, there was a decline in sales for the past three years.

And, you found the opportunity to focus on new areas. In the ‘actions’ part describe the things done by you and your team. In the SOAR process, actions play the major role, and this is where you can come out with most of the description. And, in the ‘results’ part relate all the results that you achieved from your actions. According to the SOAR process, you should quantify your results.
